Early 20th Century American wood and painted duck decoy, circa 1920. Believed to be made by a Minnesota carver but could be from Wisconsin as well. Purchased from a collector years ago.
Early working tack eyes and missing it's weight or keel. This folky bird is showing an old break or chip on side of bill. Believed to be a Black Coot, but the original paint shows a blue bill.
Nice appealing bird with a nice stance. Will be a nice addition to any collection or rustic decor. Great gift idea for the Sportsman in your life.
