Very neat handmade pencil box from approx. 1930s. Box joint and original unique locking mechanism in place but we do not have a key. Believe this is made of Maple. This has the original owners name on the back ... Joyce Ann Pedersen, 3525 Columbus Ave (but no state) although I'm sure it was Minneapolis MN. This is too common of a name for me to research. The inside upper portion of the lid also has writing, enlarge photos to read. A fun aspect of the box is that it contains an original early eraser. This is very hard and unusable but fun to have.
Very good condition. Hinges work very well. Great for you to stash fun smalls or give as a gift to a writing or artist. Very attractive.
