Antique wooden firkin that was found while cleaning out an estate. It is staved with finger bands that keep it tight and secure. At some point in it's life the lid lost it's outside ring and was broken.
Sometimes referred to as sugar buckets, these are awesome as decorative pieces, quite functional as well as storage containers. Probably made of pine, it has maple coloring and shows age and wear. The remnants of a label is still on the front. If you like the country look or collect primitives, this firkin will compliment any room its displayed it.
Measures approx. 10" T by 9" W at top and 10" W at bottom.
