Details

An authentic piece of early American industrial history: a vintage brass "Guy's Dropper" acetylene carbide miner's cap lamp. This piece features a clear maker's stamp on the bottom chamber reading: "MANUF'D BY SHANKLIN MFG. CO. SPRINGFIELD, ILL." dating its production somewhere between 1913 and 1932.

Condition:

Threads & Base: Excellent structural condition. The bottom chamber unscrews smoothly and easily. Gorgeous, authentic aged patina across the brass housing. No major crushing or deep structural compromises.  The reflector is intact w/  circular reflector dish securely attached. Shows light, honest age wear consistent with subterranean work.  The striker wheel and top lever parts are intact (please see images for complete mechanical layout). Unrestored and sold as-found. Ideal for a premium display piece or adding to a historic mining collection.
