Stamped by D.O. Wood, District Manager of
the Fyr-Fyter Company in Dayton Ohio.
Rare graphic letterhead with a color image of the factory as
well as a small boy with the fire hat and suit on.
Some history below:
The Fyr-Fyter Company dominated the fire extinguishing
industry for 50+ years. Founded in 1910, Fyr-Fyter grew into
a $50 million revenue per year business (inflation adjusted)
by 1945.
They were also one of the largest direct selling
organizations prior to 1945, with over 3,500 sales agents.
The founders were the pioneers of the fire extinguisher
industry.
Addressed to a Mr. G. L. Henning of Crete Illinois.
Apparently a salesman for the company and getting a booster
letter of sorts to sell more extinguishers.
The piece is in nice condition for the age. A small edge
wear noticeable at the top of the letter and a tiny tear at
the lower left fold. A great piece for the ephemera
collector or Fyr-fyter Extinguisher collector.
