Letterheads suggest privileged access to the companies and people whose names are printed, and sometimes embossed, at the tops of these single sheets of paper. For businesses, they function as official, if not legally binding, documents, lending authenticity to whatever has been handwritten or typed below. --
Here we have a item kept safely for years in a file with like material, all regarding the need for sound effects. Unfortunately the previous owner, a wonderful and talented musician, teacher, band leader, writer and more, had the hardest time finding the sound of a Buffalo stampede for a theatrical play she wrote. This is from the 1960s era. Famous in her own right, Betty Masoner kept this file, including the play with multiple letters asking for help with this. Being sent by Sound Director at Disney, ( a letterhead I will be listing), she is answered here by Richard R. McCurdy, that she struck gold. Cinesound had such tapes, including ox carts effects she needed. Mr. McCurdy's is known for CBS Schoolbreak Special (1984), Portrait of a Hitman (1979) and Black Fist (1975). and more.
The letter measures 11 by 8.5 inches. Is in very nice condition. It shows the letterhead at the time for Cinesound Company, INC.Dated April 20, 1967. See photos for condition and email with any questions.
