Charming antique baker's rack with 3
shelves dating to approx. 1880s - 1890s. Looks to be made of
Butternut. This unique original piece was found in an old
Bakery closed for many years in Northern Minnesota.
Made to cool freshly baked breads, pastries and display
them. Shows a iron brace that hooks in place, allowing
the piece to open 41" deep. There are a few layers of paint,
dark Spanish red or brown, then white, grained with a brush
and shellacked early in it's life. Creating this great
look. Legs and shelves are mortised through, not
photos.
This is not only functional but also decorative. You can use
this for storage, picture frames, wine display, bath towels,
houseplants, and even a fantastic display for
textiles. If you appreciate a versatile and old
mercantile piece of furniture, the rack will be a delightful
addition to your home or business.
Dimensions: 72" overall height by 38" wide.
