Primitive 19th c. Jelly Pantry Kitchen Cupboard, Square Nailed & Pegged
This one-piece, two door, two drawer primitive kitchen cupboard is the perfect Farmhouse kitchen piece. It's in it's original dry state with remnants of it's original Spanish brown paint. Probably dating to approx. 1860s - 1880s. This American pine handmade cabinet is showing stick nailed joints but the majority seems to be square nailed. The drawers and the doors show wooden pegs.Very unique top shelf. The upper shelf is slatted and the slats removable. I would imagine for cleaning if the pie droppings hit them while drying.
This measures approx. 61 inches high, 19" deep x 51" widest at cornice. Large and spacious piece.
Two deep interior shelves beneath the rack. The overall look is natural and desirably weathered and distressed, due it's authentic signs of age and use. Age appropriate wear. The lower right foot has a break from years ago and an old repair. Leave it or fix it. It does not detract from this hard to find piece.
