19th c. Scandinavian Painted Pine Bench - Trundle Daybed

Completely original with gorgeous aged wear and patina on this beautiful bench / trundle bed. Referred to as a "kökssoffa" (Kitchen sofa / couch). The early paint is to die for. Layers of old paint, Robins egg blue over a Seafoam green.

This Swedish Gustavian piece dates to approx. 1850s - 70s. Used more than likely as a bench in a farmhouse kitchen and used as a pull-out bed for the house servant or guests. Seat lifts up for storage and front pulls out as seen in the photos. Great old worn patina.

This piece would be a welcome addition to any primitive home, in a kitchen nook, entryway etc.

The bench was constructed with mortise and tenon joinery and functions as it should. Very sturdy. This is showing wear consistent with age and minor paint loss throughout that adds to it's beauty. This will have to be a local pickup or the use of your carrier.
