A very striking planter from late 19th c.
American Empire era. Made of cast iron, this planter shows a
floral & lambs tongue motif.
Painted black at one time many years ago, it still has a
great appealing appearance due to the fact that it may have
been under a porch or out of the weather. Wear consistent
with age and use.
A pattern or style shows clearly on the piece. A raised rim
and frontal ornate decoration, decorative base.
Classic Empire design. Not sure of the maker. This
shows drainage holes in the bottom.
Believed to date to c. 1870's - 1880's. Approx. dimensions:
9" H x 24" L x 13" D
