Roxbury MA, Made in U.S.A.
Early Mark 14 Forged 12" adjustable wrench. MARK 14 PAT. 1889 & 97" in raised cast lettering.
This is one of the nicest quality pipe wrenches of the late 1800's era. It feature a very smooth movement on the adjustable jaw gearing. Seams to work very well.
This is an estate purchase and the piece was definitely used and enjoyed so it needs a bath. I'm having trouble as the knife handle has the appearance of a leather wrap like a knife would be, but perhaps just grooved wood, personally, it's leather and just worn from handling. It very solid and tight I believe with a steel ferrule at one end and a nut at the other. The steel as with any used tool has a few small dents or mars but is very nice. The jaw teeth are in good shape, with very minor wear. A nice clean 19th century pipe wrench for Fathers or husbands, or a tool buff gift or your own collection.
Please enlarge all photos and feel free to email with any questions. Thanks!
