I happened on several different old
speedometer's where they were from an old closed up repair
shop. I don't know a ton about these so hoping some
polite help comes my way if my research is wrong.
This is referred to as a Dodge Brothers type speedometer.
The dial appears to turn freely. As can see this needs a
good cleaning. I wiped the glass face which does show some
minor scratches.
The date I show in the title are a guesstimate. I read
where this may be early 1930s? The reader of this will
definitely know for sure. :)
Measures approx. 3.75" for the beveled face, 4.5" with the
extension. and approx. 3" deep without housing.
There is a serial number on the back shows 214760 with the
Type No. 3851 above that. Really neat graphic of wings
and REO on the front.
Great display as garage art, or put in your classic or hot
rod or custom. I believe these are used in early Motorcycles
as well.
