Item #: BNT2774 Our price: $87.00 |
This “Primula” pattern features intricate blue floral designs on a white background, and has the swan trade mark which is a distinctive feature on ironstone pieces. A beautiful and very breathtaking 19th c. blue and white
large ironstone platter. This shows a bit of the blue flowing as with the early pieces. Soft scalloped edges along the rim and embossed scrolled pattern under the blue decoration.
The maker's mark is a lovelyblue swan with B. M & T. and the word trademark underneath. Also the pattern name Primula in a ribbon. I believe the stamp dates between 1889 and early 1900's. The bottom also has a impressed set of hallmarks with the name Tunstall underneath. (Tunstall is a town in Staffordshire, England, known for its rich history in pottery.) Also impressed is the number 12.
Approx. dimensions are 14.25" long by 11.25" wide by W x 1.25" tall.
Remarkable condition given its age. No chips, cracks or breaks but does have some discoloration on the rim underneath by the makers mark. See photos. Your satisfaction is very important so please email with any questions prior to purchase.
