From a private collection. Given as a
gift in or around 1925 to a Northern Minnesota Game Warden.
These pretty circa 1880's, 1890s specimen's prove that while
some moccasins are not fully beaded, they have no less
impact on the visual and handcrafted artwork of the Native
American.
These Sioux moccasin's are composed of tanned hide and
partially beaded in a classic banded design a geometric
pattern showing only a beaded border and small design across
the toe and the shoes trim.
Please note that the sole's of these moccasin's still show
some of the fur remnants. There is some bead damage so
please enlarge all photos.
The previous owner worked in the Northern most region of
Minnesota and along the Canadian border's territory. He had
many friends and contacts in those early years and acquired
a great deal of early artifacts.
Approx. size: 10" L x 3.5" W x 4" H.
