This hunter is in his kayak or canoe with
a double sided paddle and items that may be considered
spears.
Not sure, but the tips of these long items fit in two very
well carved hold downs or holes at the front of his kayak.
His hands are curving around something that appears to be a
may be a small seal tied down in front of him.
The well carved kayak has two decorated ends. The figure
comes out to show he is held in by a carved attached peg.
I was lucky enough to purchase an estate with fine piece's
of Inuit art. I have never known for sure if this beautiful
carving belonged with the black stone base so selling
without it.
It just makes a nice backdrop for the light colored piece.
Measuring approx. 6" long by 1" high.
There may be some fine scratches but believe to be a (rare)
piece that has some good age.
Please see pictures for condition details. Great display or
addition to a collection.
Feel free to email with any questions prior to purchase.
Thanks for looking.
