1890s Oil on canvas. Country farmhouse scene, flowering trees

A charming 1890s oil painting on canvas. The scene features a country farmhouse surrounded by flowering trees, white picket fence and an open well. The artwork captures the charms of rural life during the era. The woman in the doorway appears to be wearing Quaker styled clothing. Note the significantly large arm over the open well. You can just see a thin rope coming from the what looks to be a cross at the top of the bent arm. Were they in the midst of building the well?

The colors are wonderful, with the full bloom on the trees. Many birds overhead. This painting shows heavy thick brush strokes throughout.

The stretcher with the canvas was placed in a larger frame at some early point, with both ends showing they may have modified the large frame to make it fit. Very old construction with square nails.

Measurements approx. 35" long by 17" tall with frame.
