More Information

Highland Park is one of several beautiful areas located on the North Shore of the Chicago.

Earle Steele McPherson (1891 - 1960)  - Some fun facts; American automotive engineer, most famous for developing the MacPherson strut in the 1940s. He worked successively for the Chalmers Motor Company and for the Liberty Motor Car Company in the early 1920s, and joined Hupmobile in 1923.[2] In 1934, he joined General Motors, becoming chief design engineer of Chevrolet division in 1935.

Earle S. McPherson was the artist for the above presentation to The Commercial Club in Highland Park, Illinois. It looks as if he would have been seventeen years old at the time.
This presentation shows 'copy' in the lower left ... although the artwork, writing and photograph all are authentic. Not sure if it was in error while the
writer or printer literally wrote it off the copy they used when doing the work. Would be to late to un-do.

The original photograph is of T.B.M. Barnes. - More fun facts;

This came from an estate where the person was believed to be a family member to Mr. Barnes. Has been great fun doing history and research on this piece.

Perfect for the Highland Park historian or for interesting conversation. Really a treasure.

As can be seen, the piece goes without a proper glass to protect it. During it's travels and much poor storage it has a hard water stain to the left side.
The framing is primitive and pine. Should be gently removed and reframed with perhaps matting to cover much of the stain. A great item that should not be lost for it's importance.

Approx. measurements -- 34" long by 10" wide with frame.
