Very pretty original framed
chromolithograph that is from the " Nero" series which
depicted the same little girl with her Newfoundland dog and
was printed by McLoughlin Bros. NY. and is circa 1902.
This framed lithograph should be titled in the lower right
hand corner at the outer edge: " NERO'S MORNING TOILET", but
the framer I believe cover this up and wrote on the backside
in pencil. The print depicts a little girl wearing a red
dress outside her home combing her beloved Newfoundland dog,
Nero. Brilliant colors and is good condition for the age.
There is a small water spot upper right hand corner. There
is a sharp few creases from her elbow down, please note
closeup. These defects are not very noticeable when hanging
on a wall and are only visible up very close. It is
extremely appealing in both coloration's and scene.
Please see photos for further detail. The lithograph is
believed to be in the original frame, but perhaps re-framed
in time. The gesso frame is in very good condition but the
frame looks like it was re-painted years ago in bright gold
detail.
The frames measures 25 1/2" x 29 1/2" and the backside of
the lithograph measures 16 1/4" x 20 1/4"
