19th c. oil on canvas, waterfall, mill and rider on
mule. Ohio?
Item #: BNT40 Our price: $ 165.00 |
Purchased many years back from a dealer out of Ohio. We were told this came from a century home estate. It is a bit dusty and quite early. Believed to be late 19th century to early 20th.
Note the figure of a woman on what is believed to be a mule by the water falls. There appears to be a large cabin or old watermill at the top of the falls. Appears it may be a depiction of Mill Creek Falls, Cleveland, Ohio.
Wonderful old naive painting. Approx. measurements 27.25" x 19".
Condition is good for the age. There is a couple of small spots to the front in the falls. Tried to get in the light to show they are minor but there. It's an early piece and was stored for years before the party we purchased it from acquired it. The gilt frame shows minor wear paint loss.
Please look at all pictures which are part of the description and condition. Feel free to email with any questions you may have.
Thanks for looking.
