This was a gift to Josephine Allen (J. Allen), an important Vogue magazine illustrator and art collector. She worked for Vogue magazines for many years in the early part of the last century. You may find many of the black and white reproductions but not attractive color tinted original such as this. Unfortunately the piece is glued to the board backing and glue suggests that it was framed, perhaps at the time of it's creation.
Approx. measurements: 9.5 x 7.2 ins
There is a text in script that was imprinted on the bottom upside down stating T & M BFK Rives No. 4?. Hard to read unless held at an angle. As you can see, the piece again was attached to something prior to our purchasing, perhaps matting. This does not effect the actual picture. The backside shows soiling. The last photo shown is that of a black and white edition.
