Beautiful rich print believed to be from the renown English artist, Edmund Hort New. Although there aren't any others out there similar, I find this is signed in same manner and in the lower right hand corner as many of his bookplates were. This beautiful scene must surely be in the English countryside.

"Edmund Hort New was a dedicated member of the Arts & Crafts movement, He specialized in pen and ink drawings of rural and urban landscapes, old buildings and their interiors, architectural features, and also designed bookplates."

The backing paper is in tatters with a small square showing from the framer's shop. In the upper right corner on the some of the backing is a penciled gift notation :  Wedding Gift from Heluntk or Helwith & Verna, Nov. 8, 1931.

Approx. measurements: 26.5" w by 18.75" tall for the frame; the print size 16" by 24". Print fills frame without matting. Fabulous depth.
