Harry August Gottsch (1904 Carroll County, Iowa - 1943 Chippewa County, Minnesota). Died trying to save the life of his family members during a terrible flood in 1943. He was only 38 years old. Mr. and Mrs. His wife and young son passed away that day. "Harry Goettsch and son Roland 12, of Montevideo, Minnesota, drowned in the floodwaters of the Minnesota River, Sunday, April 4th, 1943".
This is a beautiful antique photo album with gold embellishments and cameo portrait in the center of cover. Most of the pages are empty, but the memories inside that were left are a sad reminder of a fateful day. The new clippings tell the story. This is part of a large photograph collection that I am gradually parting with. As found in an old estate. Has been in my collection for years
