Details

Hundreds of thousands of Norwegians came to Minnesota between 1851 and 1920, making the Twin Cities the unofficial capital of Norwegian America. This is a wonderful piece of Minnesota Scandinavian history depicting four young couples enjoying a nice Summer day. I have had this in my photo collection for years and believe these may be students of St. Olaf College...not sure. Approx. 1910 - 1915..

These eight young people are dressed to the hilt. Beautiful white dresses and large hats while the men are in suits to charm. Three of the woman look like they may have name plates on the dresses. Names I can make out - Maria Berglund, Marthin, Belly ...
On the back of this photo is quite a bit of information plus the names of the people on the front. Norwegian language which I cannot quite translate, so hoping someone who can read this on the back will help me out.

This large cabinet photo measures approx.  13.75 by 11.75" and is by Carl Nordmark. Below you will find some history on him and his studio.
