Family photos with the dead were common
in the early years of photography. In photography’s early
years it was common for families to gather around the body
of a loved one for a photo.
In most cases, these were the only pictures ever taken of
that person. For memories sake, these have become
collectible for all the right reasons....or sometime the
macabre.

From a Wisconsin estate. Ribbon in front of casket shows the
lettering 'Mother'
Large family gathering with more than likely friends and
family. Sad day. This is an old photo but looks like it was
taken of another photo as you can see the wood framed
exterior.
Condition: Very good with the normal wear. See photos
