Details

This is a fun piece for your Beer display or photograph collection. Rare Late 1800's cabinet photograph staged either for the company or just for having a good time.

Some fun history below:

The name “Einbeck” was pronounced as “Einbock” in the Bavarian accent of the region – and “einbock” means “billy goat” in German. Shortened to “bock,” the name remains with us today, as does the visual pun of the goat on the label.

This photograph is full of great things to catch your attention. The Billy goat is standing on two barrels and a what looks to be a young goat is on a third. There is a sign posted across the barrels 'BOCK'. The goat is tasting the dark brew out of a glass held by the man on the right. The man on the left is holding his beer high with his left hand and his right hand seems to be missing. Both appear to be typical early Mid-western figures which would be appropriate as this came from a Wisconsin estate years ago.

Included in the scene is a pair of cute and dutiful pups by the doorway. Horse drawn carriage in backgrown.

Good condition for the age. The photograph itself is in very good shape with just a bit a soiling at edges. The board has been soiled more with some red coloration and water stains on the exterior edges.
Poorly stored before we acquired it. Lower left corner is hard creased. Would be terrific matted and framed.

Some of my photos have been copied and replicated here on Ebay and I'm showing a watermark that hopefully deters this. This is an authentic one of a kind image.

Please see photos and email with any questions prior to purchase. Thanks for looking.
