Details
Part of a large collection of mine that I am going to sell off.
I've loved them for years, now it's time to share.
The D.O. Mills was a steel Great Lakes bulk freighter built in
1907 by the Great Lakes Engineering Works in Ecorse, Michigan.
It measured 556 feet 9 inches in length overall (LOA) and had a
beam of 58 feet.
Whitmore Lake, where the ship operated, has its a history of
facilitating the movement of goods, people and more with ships
like this.
Rare original photograph by Claude Lockwood, Whitmore Lake,
Michigan. There have been reproductions of this ship but this is
a very hard to find original 8 by 10 inch actual photograph.
Would be great to frame.
Stamped on back and identifying mark from photographer at bottom
of photo. Some toning at very edges noticeable on backside.
Watermark not on original. Very good condition.
