Perfume Making in Grasse France
The mysteries of the distillation of essences, amid high copper stills and large basins dating another age. A glance is thrown in the laboratory of "nose", the creative artist of these wonderful fragrances, who works surrounded by hundreds of unusual scent vials, isolated from the surrounding corona by glass partitions. Sounds very romantic. These first look to be regular stills for the making of alcohol but they are for magnificent fragrant perfumes. You would never have to put on any of your own when going to work there.
Dated Sept 27, 1952, this postcard is addressed to: Mr & Mrs. F Killinger, Alameda California. From Florence.
