Large seven piece w/ lids Commode Set of Knowles Taylor & Knowles Semi Vitreous Porcelain. (KT&K) was a pottery company in East Liverpool, Ohio from 1854 to 1931.
Pretty teal or turquoise in the leaf pattern. Closest match via an original 1900s catalog of Knowles would be the 'Michigan' Toilet Set.
1. Large Ewer (Pitcher) - shows a spider hairline on side (see photo) - 12.5" tall by 10" across with handle
2. Basin - some minor paint loss, nice - 16.25" across by 5" tall
3. Slop Jar and Cover - Good condition - 10" diameter lid, 10" tall w/o lid, mouth 8.5" across and overall 12" across
4. Mouth Ewer (Small pitcher) - tiny chip has been glued at some point in upper open edge, (see last photo) - 8.5" tall x 7" across w/ handle
5. Ironstone Chamber Pot (bottom marked Virginia) and Cover - Minor crazing around edge - Matching lid to res of set is 10" D. 6" tall and 8" at mouth. 10.5" across.
6. Soap Dish with interior hard to find drainer and cover - Very nice - 5.5" in diameter lid, 3" tall and 6" across
7. Hall boy mug with handle - very nice - 3.25" mouth by 4" tall
These were found in an estate purchase. Wonderful set with only minor flaws for all their age and use. The teal is showing some minor paint loss. The worst of it seems to be on the handle side of
the small pitcher. See photos.
