This small vintage vase came from the
estate of a collector of Southwestern art and other vintage
potteries. I'm guessing it is c. 1920s.
A wonderful representative of the color and texture for
which many New Mexican pottery piece's are known for. It has
a coating of a cool sage green paint upon a terracotta base
with a subtle blue, salmon and other earth tones.
The piece has a matte finish. The appearance of what's known
as a wedding vase but also similar in design to the Hopi
canteen. Looks hand shaped with an impressed mark at the
bottom.
Measures about 4.5" tall by 3.5" wide and 1.5" deep.
Small yet substantial piece of New Mexico art pottery. Would
make a terrific gift for the collector or nice addition to
your Southwestern decor.
