What a fun find! Research shows
this is probably a model Number H-126 and was made sometime
between 1946 and 1949. A six tube radio. Referred to as a
refrigerator radio because of its styling, and according to
one source, in 1945 Westinghouse gave you one for free if
you bought a Westinghouse refrigerator. This is as found.
One knob is changed. It plays but with a soft hum. Also the
W lights up in the front. Handle works great. This is
showing dirt, flash is bringing out more than I feel is
there. I see one scratch that shows
in the flash upper left, its small. The bakelite has no
cracks or chips that I see. The brass like the rest of it
could use a polishing but then I think it would absolutely
glow. It's nice the way it is too.
Approx. dimensions - 13" tall with handle up, 9" without. 6"
Wide and 5.5" deep.
This would be a terrific gift for the radio guy in your life
or for your own collection. The display is great, or play
and enjoy the nostalgia. Please see photos as they are
important to the description. Email with any questions you
may have. Thanks for browsing!
