Here is a rare religious print in the Neoclassical style by John Singer Sargent. It is based on a study for the frieze of prophets, a beautiful mural located at the Boston Public Library.
The names of each prophet is written over their heads. The original frame is mottled wood and gesso. A very powerful image. Estimating this to be late 19th c. to early 20th c.
Dimensions: 12.5 by 56.5". Over all condition is very good. As with most vintage and antique items, minor surface wear expected with age and use.
This is over-sized and would be shipped with hard insulation and board, well protected and insured.
