Exceptional, large and very early wooden burl or root bowl with fabulous character. Dated 1714

Swedish wood bowl in an irregular shape. The authentic patina is remarkable. Bowls like this were household items used for storage and food preparation. So very rare to find one of this age and in this wonderful condition. Hand-carved from walnut burl and showing an attractive grain. There are normal and expected organic edges due to age expansion and shrinkage over time. Note the darkened area on the bottom, it shows remnants of red paint.

Approx. measurements: 15 inches by 10 inches and has a total height of 5 inches.
