Details

Piggin buckets date back to the colonial era and were brought to this country by Scandinavian immigrants. These types of buckets were used as utilitarian farm tools for everything from feeding grain to farm animals to general household chores.

Dimensions 2.25" h X 4.75" rim to handle. This mug held 3.75 ounces of shaving soap.

The bands are attached to the Antique Piggin Bucket in two places. Two side rope holds rise above the bucket. I am not sure about the date of the piece but believe mid-century. Marked Basketville Putney Vermont

Condition is quite good with very minor surface marks and light wear although doesn't appear to have prior use.

Please see photos and email with any questions prior to purchase. Thanks for looking.
