Nice vintage wooden staved piggin. Marked Basketville Putney Vermont

Measures approx. 13' tall by 10" in diameter

Some history below.... Piggin buckets date back to the colonial era and were brought to this country by Scandinavian immigrants. These types of buckets were used as utilitarian farm tools for everything from feeding grain to farm animals to general household chores. The bands are attached to the Antique Piggin Bucket in two places. Two side rope holds rise above the bucket. I am not sure about the date of the piece but believe mid-century.

Condition is quite good with very minor surface marks and light wear although doesn't appear to have prior use. Please see all photos for items condition. Email with any questions you may have. Thanks for looking.
