Four antique Apothecary Pharmaceutical medicine and herbal amber bottles. For collectors and enthusiasts of vintage healthcare items and vintage drugstore, medical display.
2 with their original contents (please do not ingest!). 2 without. Largest 5", smallest 2" tall.
- Largest one is McKesson's and Robbins Oil Thyme - Thyme oil strengthens the nerves, aids memory and concentration, can help with the feeling of exhaustion and combats depression.
- Labeled bottle with cork is No. 14 Calcium Sulphide - Possibly used for skin conditions (has 3.4's content still)
- Thin bottle with label is A.S.B. and I. Lilly - Eli Lilly was a pharmaceutical company founded in 1876. The bottle held 500 pills at one time 1-4 gr. Aloin, 1-60 gr. Strychnine, 1-8 gr. Ext. Bellad (Belladonna) lvs., 1-16 gr. Ipicac. (the treatment of habitual constipation!)
- Smallest round bottle by Hynson, Westcott & Dunning is Mercurochrome: Older brand name for merbromin, a topical antiseptic. (approx. 1.4" full)
One with a cork stopper,Two with early plastic lids and one without a lid. Again, partial original contents which should never be used!
