More Information

New with original board. Sold at JCPenney. Maker WinCraft Inc. in Winona MN. Button is 6" in diameter.

The 1987 Minnesota Twins won the World Series for the first time since moving from Washington in 1961, the second time that the franchise won the World Series (the Washington Senators won it in 1924).

Having won only 85 games during the 1987 regular season, they won the World Series with the fewest regular season wins since Major League Baseball expanded to a 162-game season in 1961, and the fewest of any team since the 1889 New York Giants (excluding the strike-shortened 1981 season). They also became the first team to win the World Series despite being outscored by their opponents in the regular season, having scored 786 runs and allowed 806.

Tom Kelly became the fifth manager to win a World Series in his first full season on the job, and one of seven total, as of 2019, to accomplish the feat.

Very good to excellent for the age for the button. The board shows some bumped corners but bold colors and highly decorative.

Would be great as a gift or for Baseball history for Minnesota. Please see photos and email with any questions prior to purchase. Thanks for looking
